These are utterly delicious. Made by hand, these olive oil tortas are a natural snack made with extra virgin olive oil & no artificial preservatives or colouring.
Ingredients: Wheat flour, extra virgin olive oil (14%), high oleic sunflower oil, sugar, yeast, salt, aromatic spices (sesame and Matalahúva) and essence of anise. Contains gluten, sesame and may contain traces of almond. Without lactose. No egg. Suitable for vegans.
Storage: Keep in a cool, dry place.
Their history dates back to the mid-19th century. Grandma Upita made sweets at home, based on her grandmother's family recipe book, whose origins stem from the identity of the Andalusian culture.
The neighbours used to queue to buy their Pestiños, Biscuits and Oil cakes, her daughter Luisa became her right hand and heir to family recipes.
This is how the business of this family saga began to take shape, as "Upita de los Reyes” in 1983. Currently it is governed by a limited company made up of the granddaughters of grandmother "Upita".
The products are manufactured by hand, passing one by one by qualified expert hands, who take care of their fragility providing taste beyond our borders.
