Our History
The Spanish Pig originates from a life long passion for Spanish food. Founded by Jonathan Larrad, who grew up in Madrid and now resides in Toronto, The Spanish Pig aims to bring the food he loves to Canadians. The Larrad family’s love of food dates back to 1914 in Madrid. Don Adolfo Larrad, Jonathan’s great-grandfather, opened an establishment dedicated to selling “Coloniales” (food imported from old Spanish Colonial countries). The business then expanded into other grocery and bakery shops in central Madrid.
