Produced by Eulogio Pomares, one of the most respected winemakers in Rías Baixas, this Albariño comes from a single, steeply sloped vineyard of old vines planted in 1970. The name Tras da Viña means “behind the vineyard,” a poetic nod to the parcel’s tucked-away position in the Val do Salnés subregion — widely considered the cradle of Albariño.
The 2022 vintage is a stunning expression of purity and precision. Fermented with native yeasts and aged on the lees for 12 months in stainless steel, it balances saline minerality with lush citrus and stone fruit notes. Expect aromas of lemon zest, green apple, and white peach intertwined with a whisper of sea spray and flinty depth. On the palate, it’s textured yet taut, showing tension and elegance — a true reflection of its granite soils and oceanic influence.

“The 2022 Tras da Viña has a golden color and a more exotic nose compared with the 2023s I tasted next to it. It's a wine that is bottled one year later. It has 13.5% alcohol and is intense, with pungent flavors and a dry mouthfeel with the granularity of the granite soils. I think the 2022s are going to evolve a little faster.
