This recent addition to Spanish Pig is from 100% Black Iberian (pata negra), free-range pigs. It has been cured for over 3 years and contains no nitrates or nitrites, just jamon and sea salt! At this price point it is one of favourites!
The pigs where this delicious melt in the mouth comes from has a diet of acorns and other wild plants. The producers, Montaraz, calls this exquisite jamon "Unico" - unique in Spanish. We agree. This jamon is an experience.
For over a century, Montaraz jamon has been a well-kept Spanish secret. Up until recently, they have done very little marketing and no exports. The Montaraz family recently began exporting small batches to Europe and Japan to great acclaim and now Spanish Pig is proud to bring it to Canadians!
