El Artesano Jijona Soft Turrón in Wooden Gift Box (200g)

Soft, deeply nutty and unmistakably Spanish, El Artesano’s Jijona turrón is a lovely expression of the traditional almond sweet. The 200g bar is presented in a wooden gift box, making it an appealing present as well as a welcome addition to the Christmas table.

Jijona is the soft style of turrón. Ground almonds give it a rich, yielding texture, quite different from the firm crunch of Alicante. The flavour is rounded and sweet, with the almond character taking centre stage. Serve a small piece and let it soften on the palate to appreciate its texture.

It is especially good with espresso or a cup of unsweetened tea, whose bitterness balances the sweetness. For a simple Spanish dessert board, arrange slices alongside crunchy Alicante turrón, dark chocolate and fresh citrus. The contrast between soft and crisp nougat makes the pairing particularly enjoyable.

Jijona turrón is also useful in the kitchen. Try crumbling a little over vanilla ice cream, folding small pieces into whipped cream, or scattering it over roasted pears just before serving. These are easy ways to introduce its almond flavour without preparing an elaborate dessert.

The wooden presentation box gives the bar a traditional, gift-worthy feel. Add it to a hamper for someone who loves Spain, or keep it for the moment when coffee needs a suitably delicious companion.
